Using your mobile phone with your simcard from
home, can be very expensive, specially if you have your phone set to answer when no
contact, phone busy, or after 3 ringings, so if you prefer to use your normal phone
number, then turn that facility off, otherwise you will be charged by your provider for
both the call roaming to Thailand, and again you also pay the returning traffic to the
answering machine. |

If you like to stay in contact with other
travelers, then use SMS messages or get a prepaid simcard for your phone. |

Prepaid simcards are available all over town in
phoneshops, actually most of the Thais are using such a number. |

available in all minimart, supermarkets, phoneshops. |

If you like to call home, then use the many
places around in town offering Overseas Calls. |

It is the cheapest method to call from
Thailand, and the staff are helpful with countrycodes and establishing the connection. |
